About The Position:

The Business Systems Consultant will perform foundational user requirements gathering and technical scoping with our assessment team. The Business Systems Consultant is the first experience our clients have working with our team, and this person will need to be able to confidently provide solutions and great customer experience.

Our technical assessments kick off each client engagement, that's where you come in. You'll work with clients to understand what they want to get out of the system we build for them. You'll uncover what solutions they're currently using for their sales, marketing, and customer service operations, who will be using the system, what kind of notifications need to be implemented, how will data flow between systems and more.  

This position is perfect for someone who has previous experience in complex marketing automation/CRM systems like a marketing manager or systems analyst. Our most popular solutions include Salesforce, Hubspot, and, certifications are a plus but not required.

The Business Systems Consultant must be a tactful communicator with sharp interviewing skills; you should be able to get complex technical information from non-technical stakeholders and translate that to our technical team.

In the first few weeks you will:

  • Get to know the OBO team & culture
  • Get to know OBO’s client onboarding process & assessment procedure
  • Shadow the assessment and technology team as they meet with clients

In the first three months you will:

  • Become deeply familiar with the solutions provided by Salesforce, Hubspot, and and how OBO tailors them to our client's needs
  • Support client assessments, architecture development,  and system design
  • Assist your assessment team with client interviews and user requirements gathering
  • Identify personal goals that align with the company vision

In the first six months you will:

  • Become comfortable performing user requirements gathering with minimal guidance
  • Document your training and create a repeatable process
  • Identify internal processes for optimization
  • Support our team with client onboarding
  • Have the opportunity to expand your technical understanding/capabilities.

About You:

  • Degree in related technical or marketing field preferred but not required
  • Thorough understanding of data systems and architecture.
  • Experience with complex CRM/MA integration projects (Salesforce, HubSpot, Dynamics, Pardot, Marketo, ETC).
  • Project management experience.
  • Advanced database experience and an in-depth understanding of database-driven systems.
  • Experience in Enterprise CRM and marketing automation data models.
  • Understanding of complex marketing and sales processes.
  • Top-notch communicator! You’re able to break down and explain complex topics to non-technical stakeholders.


  • CRM deployment experience with Salesforce or Hubspot.
  • Application integration experience (e.g. data migration & integrations).
